Dr. Gerri Competiello, Au.D.
Gerri Competiello earned her Bachelors of Arts in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and Masters of Arts in Audiology at Adelphi University in New York. Dr. Competiello earned her Doctor of Audiology at Salus University, Elkins Park Pennsyvania. She successfully completed her Clinical Fellowship at the Lennox Hill Cochlear Implant Center in New York City. She has trained at prestigious institutions with both world renowned Otolaryngologists and Audiologists at The Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, and The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She has also worked as an clinical trainer for one of the leading hearing aid manufacturers, giving her tremendous insight to the latest approaches in hearing amplficaition.
Gerri holds her fellow with the American Academy of Audiology and is licensed by New York State in Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing.
Dr. Competiello has supervised and trained many graduate students, Clinical Fellow candidates, and hearing aid dispensers during her career. Currently, she is an Associate Professor of Audiology at Long Island Consortium, St. Johns University campus, New York.
Deborah LaBel, M.S.
Deborah LaBel, MS is a New York State licensed Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature at St. John's University and her Master's Degree in Speech and Hearing Science at Washington University in 1998. Deborah has worked with many well renowned Otolaryngologists and Audiologists at prestigious clinical facilities including Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City as well as Central Institute for the Deaf in St Louis. She has extensive experience working with hearing impaired children and adults and guiding their families through the entire rehabilitation process. She has participated in numerous research protocols examining the benefits of early amplification in children and the benefits of cochlear implants in all populations. Deborah specializes in programming traditional and medical hearing systems for children and adults, and strives to provide you with exceptional audiological care and support.
Dr. Theresa Dempsey, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Theresa Dempsey, Au.D., CCC-A, is a New York State licensed audiologist. Dr. Dempsey earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences from Saint Joseph’s College in 2002, completed her Master of Arts in Audiology at Hofstra University in 2004, and her Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in 2008. She has practiced audiology in various clinical settings for over ten years and is particularly interested in aural rehabilitation and counseling of the hearing impaired and their families. Dr. Dempsey has extensive experience in diagnostic testing of pediatric, adult, geriatric and difficult to test populations. She specializes in dispensing and counseling patients in the use of advanced digital hearing aid technology, balance testing and electrophysiological testing. Dr. Dempsey works closely with patients and their families to provide exceptional hearing health care.
Dr. Dempsey belongs to many professional organizations including: the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), and the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and holds professional certifications and licenses, including; ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, a New York State Audiology license and a New York State Hearing aid Dispensing License.
Dr. Jill Diamond, Au.D.
Jill Diamond, Au.D. earned her Master of Arts degree in Audiology from the University of Colorado in Boulder Colorado in 2000. She earned her Doctor of Audiology from Salus University in Elkins Park Pennsylvania in 2007. Following her graduate work, Dr. Diamond completed an externship at the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale and then completed a clinical fellowship year at a private practice in Denver. As a practicing Audiologist in a private practice in New York for over 15 years, Dr. Diamond has extensive experience in the assessment and rehabilitation of hearing impairment and balance disorders. Jill specializes in fitting the right hearing aids to improve her patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Diamond is a New York State licensed Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Michelle Waller, Au.D., CCC-A
Michelle Waller earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2003, and her Master’s degree in Audiology in 2005 from Hofstra University. She received a Doctoral degree in Audiology from Salus University in 2009. Dr. Waller is licensed to practice as a certified audiologist and to dispense hearing aids in New York State. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Dr. Waller has worked in a variety of clinical settings and has extensive experience in diagnostic testing of pediatric through adult populations. She specializes in comprehensive audiological evaluations, balance testing, electrophysiological testing, dispensing of advance digital hearing aid technology and aural rehabilitation. Patient care is her top priority and she works closely with patients and their families to provide exceptional health care services for all of her patients. Her passion for helping others and her desire to work with people led her to a career in hearing aid dispensing and audiology.
Emily Visconti, Au.D.
Emmy Visconti earned her Bachelors of Arts in Speech Pathology at Loyola University in Maryland. Dr. Visconti earned her Doctorate in Audiology at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. She completed her residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Visconti has trained and worked at two large hospitals, Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Union Memorial Hospital, both in Baltimore, Maryland. While there, she diagnosed infants and children with hearing loss, going on to provide hearing impaired children with cutting edge hearing aid technology.
Additionally, Dr. Visconti spent 8 years working in a fast paced medical environment with otolaryngologists and audiologists, assisting in diagnosing and treating hearing loss in adults. She worked closely with those patients in order to fit appropriate amplification devices, following up in order to update technologies to work with patients changing lifestyles.
Dr. Visconti is licensed by New York State in Audiology and hearing aid dispensing and is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Visconti has also supervised and trained graduate students throughout their doctoral residencies.
